Range, not a single lane
What comes through across Luna's playing is range rather than a single lane. In big-band settings she's held both section chairs and solo spots — including a guest spot with the NDR Bigband — a role that demands precision inside the ensemble and confidence stepping out of it. In smaller combos, that shifts toward interplay and listening. She's also done pit work with the Lüneburger Symphoniker and Sinfonietta Lüneburg — a different discipline again: reading, blending, supporting a score rather than leading one. And with Rockytrio, the trombone moves into pop-rock territory entirely. That range is the throughline, not a set of side projects: a trombonist who reads what a room needs — big-band chart, pit book, or a Rockytrio hook — and gives it exactly that. Traditional jazz with Addi Münsters Old Merrytale Jazzband and command of piano, trumpet, and drums round out the same instinct.
